I am addicted to a new show on ABC.
THE TASTE.
The concept of the show is awesome. They had an assortment of professional chefs and home cooks audition for the show. They picked the finalists based upon a single taste of 1 dish.
There are 4 mentors that are accomplished chefs themselves. Each chef picked 4 team members based solely upon one taste of the dish that they prepared!
Every episode they pick the winners and losers based upon the blind taste test of a single dish. The 4 mentors pick the winners and the losers, but because it is a blind taste test, they run the risk of eliminating their own team members!
I can't watch a single episode without wanting to run to Williams Sonoma to get a bunch of new kitchen gadgets so that I can whip up an exciting meal like a pro!
I'm rooting for the home chefs, my favorite is Lauren!
Seriously, check the show out! The Taste: Tuesday at 9|8c on ABC. Here is a link to the most recent episode!http://abc.tv/Z3jimp

Palmolive Fresh Infusions
So, as you guys may know... I am a sucker for sweepstakes. Sometimes I'll participate in Twitter parties too. That's how I found out about Influenster. Influenster connects brands with people who are interested in testing the products out.
It is a pretty great website and I joined last year after attending one of their Twitter parties. The "Vox Boxes" that they send out are pretty incredible, and I couldn't wait until I could get one of my own!
The time finally came! I was picked to receive the Palmolive Fresh Infusions Vox Box this fall!
I received 3 bottles of Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish soap, 1 in each of the following scents:
Lime Basil
Lemon Thyme
Ginger White Tea
I assumed that my favorite would be the Ginger White Tea, but I became OBSESSED with the Lime Basil! I'm not going to lie, I was actually excited to do the dishes the day that I received the dish soap!
I added a few drops of the Lime Basil Soap to a sink of hot water, and the ENTIRE kitchen filled up with a fresh scent. I was amazed how much scent came out of the bottle!!!
At first I really really liked the scent, but after a while (when the scent didn't fade away) it started smelling a little bit sickeningly sweet. The basil scent was natural, but the lime scent was more like a lime candy... or lime gelatin.
The other two scents were nice too. I ended up giving the Lemon Thyme to my mother and she really seemed to like it. The Ginger White Tea was more understated, but I feel like the scent was more natural that the other two.
As for the cleaning power, I was more than a little disappointed.
When I was doing "light duty" dishes (cups, plates, silverware) it worked just fine. Unfortunately, when I had to scour pots and pans, greasy dishes, and casserole dishes, the Palmolive Fresh Infusions let me down. I ended up having to use 2x or 3x as much soap as I would have with my normal brand of dish soap.
The first week that I had been trying out Palmolive Fresh Infusions, I had been cooking bacon and was pouring the bacon fat into a can to dispose of it later I ended up spilling the hot grease all over my cook top. This was a real test for the Palmolive Fresh Infusions. I ended up using about 1/6th of the bottle to clean up that mess, and the cook top was STILL greasy. I ended up having to clean the bacon pan 2x with the Fresh Infusions, and then eventually ended up cleaning the pan with my normal brand of dish soap, and it did the trick.
Since the bacon incident, I've continued to use my Palmolive Fresh Infusions for my light dishes (because I like the scent), but when I have a tough mess to clean, I've continued to use my old brand.
If you want to try the Palmolive Fresh Infusions collection out for yourself, you can check buy them at Target and Wal-Mart!
*Disclaimer: I received Palmolive Fresh Infusions for free from Influenster, but all of the opinions about are my own*

Hello World!
Welcome to the official Kaluza family blog.
Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm Anne. I'm a 20 somethingliving in Chicago with my husband Piotr and my mischievous puppy Penny. We are a digital family. When the internet is down, we are grumpy! I'm a sweepstake-aholic. I love entering contests and playing instant win games! I've won some interesting things, and love the rush of seeing a "Congratulations, You've Won..." e-mail.
In the "real" world I am a barista, and have been for the past 6 years. I'm also planning on running the 2012 Chicago Marathon (if I can win entrance, as it sold out already!)
Stay tuned to our Digital Puddle blog to hear my rants, musings, and find out about some cool contests and instant win games to enter!
Cheers!
